KINESIOLOGY

The word Kinesiology (kin-easy-ology) conventionally refers to the study of the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement. In the natural health field, however, the term kinesiology has a different connotation. Seen as monitors of stress and bodily imbalance, the muscles are tested using specialised techniques. 'Muscle Testing', an effective and versatile tool, is the key method Kinesiologists use to detect and correct various imbalances in the body which may relate to stress, nutrition, learning problems, injuries and so on.

HOW DID KINESIOLOGY BEGIN?
In the early 1960's American Chiropractor, George Goodheart D.C. began to use muscle testing to evaluate muscle function, posture and general body imbalances. His research and discoveries, led him to formulate 'Applied Kinesiology', a system he made available to other Chiropractors and professionals. In the 1970's Kinesiology was systemised for the lay person by another Chiropractor, John Thie D.C. . This simplification towards a self-help method he called Touch For Health. The Touch For Health method of Kinesiology has been taught in many languages to millions of people worldwide.

The great virtue of Kinesiology is its versatility. The early techniques have evolved to become powerful methods that can be developed to suit individual tastes or needs and applied in almost any situation, for the individual, within the family or in the professional situation.
